Meals By Grace

Provides hungry children and their families with meals in Forsyth County. Volunteers meet 1pm - 4pm every SUNDAY, and the second SATURDAY of the month to prepare a hot meal, assemble other food items then go deliver the food to the children on our program. The Aquaponics Farm also needs volunteers.

Furkids operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast.

Furkids is one of the only shelters in Georgia that welcomes children

of all ages to volunteer in many different capacities. 

Volunteer Opportunities: 

  • Reading to Cats program (open to all ages) Children can come visit with the cats & read their favorite story to them or practice their reading skills. 

  • Team Captains for Fundraising or Supply Drives (open to all ages)

  • Cat Shelter Caretaker in Doraville (open to all ages)

  • Thrift Store Volunteer in Norcross (16-18) 

  • Weekend Event Dog Handler (12+)

  • Foster Homes for Dogs and Cats (open to all ages)

  • Santa Photo Helpers and Gift Wrappers (Seasonal) (9-18)

How to volunteer:

On Mondays and Saturdays (weather permitting) from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Children are most welcome to volunteer in the garden with their parents.  Projects include land clearing, soil preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting and much more! 

How to Volunteer:

3.  Come get your kids hands in the ground, planting volunteerism in their heart!
